Of the 38 places she’s called home since earning her bachelor’s degree three decades ago, one spot stands above all the rest on Cheryl Lentz’s list.
“My favorite place of anywhere in the world is the Quad,” says the well-traveled author/teacher/coach.
“Even many decades later, I come to the U of I ideally at least for the homecoming football game. My college roommate and I usually meet to get caught up. Yes, we are still friends decades later, too.
“I like to stand on the Illini Union steps, stare across toward Foellinger Auditorium, close my eyes and breathe to take it all in. There is amazing energy here on the Quad — it’s quite literally magical in my opinion.”
