Stephen Moore

Stephen Moore

Heritage Foundation fellow | Former Trump advisor | Class of 1982

Long before he went on to sit on the Wall Street Journal's editorial board or advise then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, Stephen Moore ('82) could often be found on the second floor at 1408 West Gregory.

“My last two years at the U of I, I spent a lot of time in the Stacks at the Library," says Moore, who's seen a library or two in his day and contends that "Illinois has the best library in the world, outside the Library of Congress."

"In the age of the Internet," he says, "the art of searching the shelves for books of yesterday is long forgotten.”
